What Is DataFlow Verification and Why Is It Required for an Equivalency Certificate in the UAE?

August 12, 2026by blcadmin0

Have you been asked to complete Data Flow verification for your degree? Are you unsure why your university needs to confirm your qualification before you can get recognition in the UAE? Many graduates face the same confusion. You may not know what DataFlow checks, why verification matters, or what happens after it. The Equivalency Certificate process in the UAE includes an important verification step beyond document submission. If you’re preparing for UAE equivalency, understanding this step can help you avoid mistakes. Here’s what you need to know before starting the process.

DataFlow Verification

What Is DataFlow Verification and Why Is It Required for an Equivalency Certificate in the UAE?

If you earned your degree outside the UAE, your qualification needs to be verified before you apply for Qualification Recognition.

Dataflow provides Primary Source Verification (PSV). It verifies your qualification with the institution or issuing authority that holds the original record.

For example, if you completed your degree at a university in India, the verification process may contact that university to confirm your qualification details.

The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research currently requires foreign higher-education qualifications to be verified through an authorised verification partner before you apply for Qualification Recognition. DataFlow is one of the authorised partners.

Why Is Qualification Verification Required?

A degree certificate shows that you hold a qualification. But the UAE authorities also need to confirm that the qualification is genuine.

Primary Source Verification helps confirm the information with the original source.

The verification can help establish that:

  • The stated institution issued the qualification.
  • Your qualification details are correct.
  • Your academic records can be confirmed.
  • The information submitted matches the records held by the issuing institution.

This gives the UAE Ministry verified information when reviewing your qualification.

DataFlow handles the verification. The UAE Ministry handles the Qualification Recognition process.

How Does DataFlow Verification Work?

The process starts with your application and supporting documents.

The main steps are:

1. Create your DataFlow account

Register through the DataFlow platform used for the applicable UAE qualification verification service.

2. Start your application

Provide your personal information and qualification details.

Make sure the information matches your official educational records.

3. Upload your documents

Depending on your case, you may need documents such as:

  • Passport
  • Degree or graduation certificate
  • Academic transcript
  • Other documents requested for verification

DataFlow states that document requirements can vary based on the regulator and verification package.

4. Provide your institution details

Enter accurate information about the institution that issued your qualification.

This helps the verification provider contact the original source.

5. Sign the Letter of Authorization

You must authorise DataFlow to carry out the verification. The Letter of Authorization forms part of the DataFlow PSV process.

6. Pay the verification fee

Complete the required payment to begin the verification process.

7. Your qualification is verified

DataFlow contacts the institution or issuing authority to confirm the information provided.

This is the main part of Primary Source Verification. The qualification is checked against information held by the original source.

8. Receive your verification document

After the verification is completed, the relevant verification document becomes available through the DataFlow process.

You can then proceed to the UAE Ministry’s Qualification Recognition stage.

Why Should You Complete the Verification Carefully?

Errors in your application can create unnecessary problems.

Before submitting your information, check:

  • Ensure your name matches your official documents.
  • Check that the university name is correct.
  • Verify all degree details for accuracy.
  • Keep your academic transcript ready.
  • Confirm the institution’s contact details.
  • Make sure all documents are clear and readable.
  • Provide any additional documents requested for your case.

Use the information shown on your official educational records.

Don’t guess details or enter information simply to complete the form quickly.
